Almost Heaven is held at Timber Ridge Camp near High View, West Virginia.
Timber
Ridge is situated on a beautiful property nestled in the heart of the
Shenandoah Mountains of West Virginia and on the banks of the beautiful
Cacapon River. The camp features two dance halls, recreation room,
athletic facilities, lifeguarded swimming pool, river
access, and a spacious dining hall. The camp has meant summer fun
for thousands of kids for the last 50 years. This is a great camp for
kids of all ages!
The program
starts with dinner on Friday followed by a dance and goes through
Monday afternoon. Optionally, you can arrive Saturday afternoon.
In-between are days packed with workshops, three evenings of
alternating contra and swing/couples dances. Workshops may include
contradance, swing, waltz, tango, singing, instruments, play with the
band, and more. Most dance workshops will have live music.
Evening dances are followed by snacks and comaraderie in the recreation hall.
Families are most welcome to this camp. The children's program is coordinated
by Cindy Rury and Emily Aubry with camper participation, and the pool is always popular
with the little ones.
Cabins are dormitory style with showers, toilets, electricity and wash facilities. You will need

Camping
is available with lots of level ground to choose from. You will
always be assigned a cabin to use for bathing, dressing, and
clothes storage (or sleeping, if you change you mind about the
tent).
